Shortly after I received a call from the consumer affairs agent. They opened their own complaint against the postmaster for her unprofessionalism. Luckily the buyer exclusively places the blame on their local postmaster. The postmaster refused to allow the buyer to pay the postage due, and instead told the buyer the package would be returned to sender. The buyer claims that the postmaster was highly upset, and needlessly aggressive after learning that a CA case had been opened. I explained that I would refund them the difference if they wanted to pay the postage due, but if they wanted to wait a day or two that I believed the package would be released to them.Ī few hours latter, the buyer sent a message back saying that they went in to pay the postage due. I sent a message to my buyer informing them of the details. Unfortunately they do not have the authority to override a postmaster's decision, and so instead opened a consumer affairs case against this postmaster. The CSR got her managed involved, and they both agreed that I was correct. I called the national line, and explained my case. He told me that there was no restriction on thickness, and that the other postmaster was clearly wrong. I took my packages to my local post office, and specifically asked my post master about my packages. Others have had this problem before, but almost always at the entry point not the delivering postmaster. I did some looking around online, and saw that this is almost clearly a mistake. This was news to me, as I have shipped several thousand of these in the last year, and have never had a problem before. The local post master informed me that there was a rule change starting in December 2013 that set a max thickness for the FRE at 3/4". I called the local USPS office first thing Thursday mourning. Buyer contacted me Wednesday that their post office had left them a note saying they owed $3.90 of postage due. It was less then 2 lbs, and approx 2.5"thick in the center. I merely placed the folded piece of clothing inside the envelope and taped over the top/sides. Shipped an piece of clothing out Monday mourning. r/Amazon | /r/AussieFlippers | /r/Barter | /r/BeerMoney | /r/CraigsList | /r/DealsReddit | /r/DiscountedProducts | /r/DumpsterDiving | /r/Ebay | /r/Etsy | /r/FlippingFinds /r/flippingcirclejerk | /r/FlippingInCanada | /r/FlippingUK | /r/ForSale | /r/Freebies | /r/Frugal | /r/FulfillmentByAmazon | /r/HowMuchWouldYouPay | /r/ScrapMetal | /r/ThriftStoreHauls | /r/Thrifty | /r/WhatIsThisThing | /r/WhatsThisWorth | /r/WTFGarageSale | /r/YardSale | /r/upcycling/ u/gigamosh57's Flipping Spreadsheet Template | /u/_imjosh's FitShipper | USPS Calculator | FedEX Calculator | UPS Calculator | Check-A-Flip(Beta) | Search Popular eBay Items | Long-term price tracker | Yard-Sale Locator | Estate Sale Finder | Public Surplus Auctions | Videogame Price Tracker | Reddit Enhancement Suite | eBay Fee Calc | Amazon Fee Calc | PayPal Fee Calc | Fliphawk Craigslist Deals Searcher
